Student-Run Committees

1. SLC – The Students’ Leadership Council
This society is responsible for managing the events in School. Usually, teachers assign duties to the students, and students follow the plan but here, students plan the event. If they need assistance, only teachers execute their tasks according to the goal of students, which results in solid decision-making skills among the scholars.

2. YSDS – The YS Debate Society
Seeing the scholars’ confidence after participating in debates and MUNs, this society was an initiative to give all the students a platform to develop themselves. This society organizes YSMUN and YSPDC (YS Parliamentary debate championship); students from different schools of the town and nearby towns participate in these conferences and debates. This society has a tie-up with IIMUN as well. Every year one IIMUN conference is organized in School, giving scholars the much-needed competition and skills. Participation in debates and seminars gives rise to confidence levels and the intellectual growth of the students.

3. Literati- The Literature Society
The members of this society have expanded horizons, and the students know how the opinion of citizens of different countries is shaped. Critical thinking and analysis among scholars are also improved in this society. Moreover, this society is a platform for budding authors and poets to get their work published. Many open mics are organized to give a stage to the storytellers and poets a stage to perform.

4. Next-Gen Artists
This is the Fine Arts Society of YS. This society is a platform for students who are interested in fine arts. This society helps students to express their thoughts on their canvas. Making students participate in international exhibitions and giving them a platform to showcase their art is the main motive of this society.

5. KPAS- Kala Manch Performing Arts Society
This society helps the students express their thoughts through their singing and acting abilities and allows them to turn these skills into a profession. In addition, exceptional theatre and music classes are arranged for students, and during these sessions, highly qualified mentors coach the students to shape their art. YSP is also associated with Spic Macay, a society promoting Indian Classical music and culture among youth.
